The Horror Host Hotel

Where would the monster making hobby be without the inspiration provided by horror hosts--the men and women who have the courage to slap on a pound of greasepaint and train monsters, inject serums randomly in the name of science, sleep in a box of potting soil, and show movies like "The Crawling Eye" at 3 am on a public access channel?

The Horror Host Hotel is an homage to the midnight maniacs who keep this great tradition alive.  After all, what mad science lab is complete without a few Frankenstein monster models on a shelf?

Dr. Gangrene:

Chiller Cinema:  Dr. Gangrene has been on the air with Chiller Cinema since 1999 in various incarnations gathering national awards and honors ever since.  He's on WB58 out of Nashville featuring full length movies, but you can catch his live shows at conventions and various venues.  Check out his lab on Shackle Island here.  The guarantee the doctor is IN . . . SANE!

Professor Griffin:

The Midnight Shadow Show:  As ringmaster in his own little circus of fear (or should that be Carnival of Souls?), Professor Anton Griffin rolls into Austin at 11:30 on Friday nights, but soon . . . he will be featured on Fangoria TV!  Find out about his horror exhibits extraordinaire right here.

Count Gore De Vol:

Creature Feature, The Weekly Web Program:  A horror hosting icon and continual innovator, Count Gore was Washington DC's horror host for nearly two decades and then became the first to host a program on the web.  Check out his continuing legacy here.

The Mortician:

The House of Fear:  Unlike most hosts who play for comedy, the Mortician is genuinely unique in his mission to prepare the dead, inspiring one to vigilantly check out those bumps in the night . . . even when the film is not so scary.  Perhaps the most unique host on the airwaves at any time, find out why here.

Butch and Joan Cleaver:

Meet Cleaver Theater:  Butch and Joan Cleaver have found themselves displaced in time.  These swingin' hipsters bring you one of the funniest shows on the tube.  Find out more here, Daddy-O.

Mr. Lobo:

Cinema Insomnia:  Mr. Lobo is part guide, part observer, part critic and part experimenter. Like a post-postmodern man, he creates something new out of the cinematic salvage heap left to horror hosts and each trip through Mr. Lobo's domain is like a guided tour of the Island of Misfit Toys. Something you have to see to believe, so check it out here.

Mr. Sheek:

Black Sky Cinema:   Mr. Shreek comes out of the cold Minnesota airwaves to bring his classic horror host style to viewers who dare wander by Shreek Mansion.  With Rock and Roll Ray by his side, Mr. Shreek gives you a great spook show.  You'll find him lurking here.

The Son of Ghoul:

The Son of Ghoul Show:  For the last 20 years--that is . . . EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND since June 13, 1986--the Son of Ghoul has been on the air. Serving the fright fan faithful of North East Ohio and beyond, Son of Ghoul has cultivated a fanatic following with his sharp wit and rock and roll attitude.  Tune in here.

Ghoulapalooza:

Ghoulapalooza:  The future of horror hosting lies with these young Turks from Pennsylvania.  They broadcast a whole TV channel on the web, SCTV style . . . with monsters.  Check it out here.
