So, what is CreatureScape?

Hmmm . . . good question.

Officially, CreatureScape was born on July 27th, 2003 and was originally designed to be a magazine on CD ROM.  We sold six issues like that over the course of a couple years, but in 2006, it just proved to be too much to keep up with as a part time endeavor.  It was an innovative idea, but we never reached more than a few hundred people that way and with so many other good traditional print magazines in our range of interest, it was not feasible to compete for the same dollars.

By 2005, the CreatureScape website was getting about 3,000 hits a week and we were publishing free articles there as an enticement.  It became a major responsibility in its own right and was in many ways, more important than the "hard copy" because we reached more people on the web.

In the meantime, CreatureScape was expanding its cyber borders.  In 2004, we began working with Count Gore De Vol to bring you a bi-monthly kit article called "The Pit" at www.countgore.com.  This feature, which runs to this day, is sometimes a build up article, sometimes an overview of available kits.  Count Gore gets about 100,000 hits a month, so it is a great tool to introduce the hobby to lots of wandering souls looking for meaning in life.  (Well, okay . . . it is good PR for resin heads though!)

By 2007, CreatureScape was a hub for kit junkies as a resource and archive with about 10,000 hits weekly, but the idea of churning out 24 "issues" a year was becoming a burden and a bit impractical.  So, today, the website is essentially the world's biggest hobby "blog" (I hate that stupid word, don't you?) . . . a creation of one mad scientist and is updated when it is possible.

Justifying that time is a lot easier when we have cash flow folks, so if you have a kit you want built but can't find time, check this out.  We also are selling Geometric Designs kits at the lowest prices on the web (I think, anyway).  So, buy yourself a kit, give us a reason to keep going, and we will make all your resin, vinyl creature dreams come true.

The Rules:

  • Actually PRACTICE your hobby.  Just do it because it makes you happy and don't worry about it.  Geeze . . .
  • But DON'T BUY RECASTS.  Artists need support to keep doing it and recasts are typically crappy anyway.
  • If you want to use some of our images, cool by me . . . just credit the source as www.creaturescape.com
  • If you want to link to us, knock yourself out.  Use our banner if you like and contact us so we can return the favor.
  • If you find an error, problem, bad link or foolish statement, let us know, but don't be a butthead.
  • Support our sponsors because that is how we stay afloat.
  • Support horror hosts at www.horrorhosts.com by buying their products
  • Support rockabilly radio at www.rockabillyradio.net by giving them money
  • Fight the power, wash behind your ears and for heaven sake, if you are surfing the web right now, take a minute to think about how cool monster models are and go immediately to our sale page and buy a kit!
