CREATURESCAPE BUILD UP SERVICE
Starting in June 07, CreatureScape will provide a build up service for interested parties. AND, you will get to see your kit featured in a build up article on CreatureScape if you like!
Here are the basics:
Customers contact me first at editor@creaturescape.com to discuss the project by email and/or phone. We will discuss what you want out of the kit--colors, display, amendments, dioramas, special features, etc. At that point, we will negotiate a price based on four main factors calculated in this order--size, complexity, time of return, discounts.
Ultimately, I will give you a price and you can decide if it is worth the work. However, I use the following guidelines to help me determine what is fair.
PRICE GUIDELINES:
SIZE:
(a) Small (approx. 8 inches tall, wide, deep): base price $75
(b) Medium (approx. 12 inches tall, wide, deep): base price $125
(c) Large (more than 12 inches tall, wide, deep): base price $175COMPLEXITY
(a) Simple--basic build up of a straight forward kit: no additional cost
(b) Labor intensive--difficult assembly, difficult paint schemes, number of parts, etc.: add 35% of base cost
(c) Demanding--dioramas, difficult paint schemes, lighting, multiple figures, etc.: add 70% of base costTIME OF RETURN
(a) Normal--completion 6 weeks from pre-arranged start date. Start date is determined by time of kit arrival and pre-existing customer contracts. Our goal is to get the kit back to you well before 6 weeks, of course, so that is just a maximum stretch of time (see discounts below for extended periods)
(b) Fast Track--mail out 3 weeks after arrival at my studio (as opposed to a pre-arranged start time). You can double the rate of your delivery by adding 50% to the cost.
(c) Head of the Line--you can move your kit to the head of the line, starting production on the day of arrival at our studios and getting it back in your hands in 2 weeks.
NOTES:
Shipping date and completion date are not the same. Shipping date is dependent upon payment.
Fast Track and Head of the Line options are based on when the kit arrives at our studio (much faster than a pre-arranged start time); however, if it is impossible to do this, we will let you know--as in the case of a big project or other issues.
DISCOUNTS
(a) Geometric Design kits--order your Geometric Design kit through us and you will get a 10% discount on the final price.
(b) Order from Horrorbles--if you arrange your build up through Horrorbles in Chicago you will get a 10% discount on the final price.
(c) Return Customers--if you use our service twice or more, you will receive a 5% discount off the production total. If you use us 5 times or more, you will receive a 10% discount. If you use us 10 times or more, you will receive a 15% discount.
(d) Prepayment Discount--if you prepay with Paypal, check or money order, you get 5% off the production cost.
(e) Delays in Shipping--Shipping is allowed a 7 day grace period from time of cleared payment. If shipping is delayed further, you receive a 10% discount per full week of delayed shipping. Postal holidays and Sundays do not count in this week period since mail outs on such days are impossible.
SATISFACTION:
Satisfaction Guaranteed: We will post several pictures of the final build up of the kit for you to see before you make payment. If you are dissatisfied, you are not obligated to purchase the kit.
However, the kit becomes CreatureScape property as a compensation for lost time. It will then be posted on CreatureScape for sale at the same price agreed upon between you and us. If and when sale is made, we will refund your kit costs (not shipping) and retain the profit.
If you receive the completed kit and are not satisfied with the work, you can return it to us. We will sell the kit and once it is sold, refund kit costs (not shipping) and retain the profit. You have 10 days from receipt of the kit to begin this process.
Insurance and Kit Damage: Your shipping costs will include postal service insurance for the entire cost of the kit and service. If the kit is damaged in the shipping, you may make a claim with the post office to recover your losses (though be advised, that it becomes the property of the postal service at that point)
If your kit is damaged in production beyond repair (i.e. my fault), I will return the cost of the kit itself plus your S&H costs.
PAYMENT:
No Down Payment: The kit itself is considered your down payment on services.
Method: You may pay by check, money order or Paypal (to editor@creaturescape.com). In the case of a personal checks, we will hold shipment until the check has cleared.
Delinquent Payment: You have 2 weeks from the final posting to arrange payment. Unreasonable delays will result in the termination of the deal and retention of the kit by CreatureScape.
The Rules:
- Actually PRACTICE your hobby. Just do it because it makes you happy and don't worry about it. Geeze . . .
- But DON'T BUY RECASTS. Artists need support to keep doing it and recasts are typically crappy anyway.
- If you want to use some of our images, cool by me . . . just credit the source as www.creaturescape.com
- If you want to link to us, knock yourself out. Use our banner if you like and contact us so we can return the favor.
- If you find an error, problem, bad link or foolish statement, let us know, but don't be a butthead.
